My primary goal in art in exploring everyday existence. This includes the interaction of the natural, social, and spiritual worlds. As a scientist who specializes in the study of water, the idea of continual interaction and cyclic movement is fascinating for me. I incorporate my scientific background with existentialist philosophy and traditional art theory to create my collage drawings. My primary concern however, is with the existence of man in the natural world. Our struggle as individuals to find our place in an often-cold alienating society is the dominating theme that prevails in my art. I strive to create balance in my pieces through the placement of colour and line. Through collage, drawing and painting I explore man’s existence in a continually changing world, a world that is beautiful, complex and interact beyond conception.
Nature is truth.
Science is the search for truth.
Art is the expression of truth.
